Light in the Dark

 From Rumi’s poem “Everyone Outdoors Talking”:

Grief lives between the cat paws.
You can say eek-eek and gehk-gohk 
but there is no escape.


Grief has a grip on this house
Resting on the furniture and walls
It’s a constant struggle to gather
Energy to move and do
Finding light in the dark is the only way through
