To be fully human
is to face the darkness,
which is inevitable,
with a flashlight
dispelling it quickly.
And if you don’t have a flashlight,
strike a match.
It works the same.
Darkness gives way to light.
It’s the nature of things.
Why fight it?
Turn your face toward the light.
Being fully human means
standing where you are
in gratitude.
