My Zikr

 (Found poem from Rumi’s “Music is my Zikr”— Zikr being a Persian word meaning spiritual remembrance.)


whistle. flute.
harp. drum.
chord. wail.
vast and tiny melodies.
sleep. wake.
music is my zikr.
remembrance. recollection.
a subtle wildflower scent.
that’s all I want.
