Morning Prayers

Inspired by Joy Harjo's "Morning Prayers."

My morning prayers today feel blank.

I do not know what to pray for.

I guess I need to pray with.

With the belief that the course of things will somehow serve us.

With the clear-eyed look at fear -- call it what it is.

With the unbending faith that we will make it through.

The days are short.
